English (US)   Hotel Groundbreaking Set for May 10  -  Categories: News, Development  -  @ 02:55:05 pm

Anyone driving along the SH-190 frontage road near Naaman Forest High School recently may have noticed the earth moving equipment cutting new lanes into the parcel between the road and the GISD Special Events Center. This is the site of the new hotel and restaurants that I reported in October.

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for the morning of May 10.

Apparently not too long to follow will be a Two Rows Restaurant, which has a plan approval request before the Plan Commission on May 14.

An new, full-service hotel for Garland has only been a dream for a long time. It's wonderful to see rapid progress now underway and it is fitting that this ceremony take place while Mayor Bob Day and others are still on the Council because they had so much to do with making this possible.
