The District 1 March crime statistics were not that much different from February, low compared to one year ago and earlier, but not as low as November.
Three of the home burglaries were within a half block of the others. A couple were close to major streets, which might indicate thieves eyeing an easy escape route. Assess your vulnerabilities and it is best to not take chances, to be extra cautious.
Virtually all of the building burglaries were at construction sites.
Thefts and vehicle burglaries still lead all other tracked categories. A high percentage are still at and around the Town Center and along N Garland Ave.
Be safety conscious at all times. Report incidents to the police immediately. Report suspicious activities or persons. The non-emergency number is (972) 485-4840. Let's work to keep our families and neighbors safe!
