Mayor Ron Jones was recently notified that Garland's Nicholson Memorial Library System has again been selected as one of the best municipal library systems in the state.

I add my congratulations to Director Claire Bausch and her staff for their outstanding service and vision that merits this tremendous acknowledgment, and to the Library Board and the Friends of the Library that deliver constant support for our libraries.

Dear Mayor Jones,

Congratulations are in order to the Nicholson Memorial Library System. You have been awarded the 2007 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association.

Of the 565 public libraries in the state of Texas only 20 percent received this 2007 award. The Nicholson Memorial Library System has demonstrated excellence in all areas required to qualify.

Please accept our sincere congratulations to a library that prizes quality services and programs for the continued education and personal enrichment of its citizens.

Sincerely,
